What Is IDEA Lab?
IDEA LAB provides STEAM focused camps, classes, and workshops ranging from Robotics, 3D Design & Printing, Engineering, Arts, and Science with fully developed and tested curriculum. With Idea Lab programs, children learn through inquisitive hands-on activities utilizing Science, Math, Critical-Thinking Skills and a great deal of imagination!
Join Idea Lab Kids as we kick of Summer 2017. Parents and kids will enjoy a wide assortment of STEAM activites that will showcase our Summer Camps! Held at the Austin Recreation Center, this is a great opportunity to see where you child could spend their summer, engaging in STEAM Curriculum throughout!
What to expect when attending:
- Robotics Showcase with Lego, SphereO and more!
- 3D Printing Workshop
- 3D designs at the Art Station
- Make your own Blinky Bugs
- Learn about Aviation by Flying Drones
Event will support:
Idea Lab Kids will be aiming to support the Austin Sunshine Camps and their efforts in the Austin area.
In 1928, The Young Men’s Business League (YMBL) of Austin recognized the serious community threat of youth tuberculosis and established the Austin YMBL Summer Sunshine Camps in Zilker Park, as it was said that exposure to sunshine could promote healing from the disease. The park provided a space in which local economically disadvantaged children could gain weight, grow strong and spend time outdoors. Today, Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps (ASC) is still serving youth living near or below the poverty line. Our programs enrich the community by encouraging and facilitating the power to succeed through education and healthy living. Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps renders the space and comfort kids need to look beyond their current situation and dream big.
Will will be accepting camper sponsorships at the event. Donations of any kind are greatly appreciated!
