Astronomy Afternoon

Visit our third-floor exhibit “Big Eye on Dark Skies,” featuring a scale model of the Hobby-Eberly Telescope (HET), and enjoy a live, hands-on demonstration of spectroscopy. Discover how astronomers use spectroscopy to decode the secrets of the universe, and experience the hidden rainbow of light that illuminates the composition of elements in distant stars and galaxies! Fridays August 29, Sept. 5, Sept. 19, Sept. 26 from 1 to 2 p.m. Included with museum admission.
