Join us on a day for Austinites to act like tourists in their own city!
Experience the Past, Discover the Future at Pioneer Farms! This free day will feature historical tours, kids crafts, and pioneer activities. Explore our five historic sites and see how real people lived in 1800s Texas. Don't forget to stop by and say hello to our farm animals: horses, donkeys, chickens, and longhorns!

11:00- 12:00 Sundown by Morning
** Live in Wessel’s Dance Hall, this trio will bring Texas’ musical roots to life with guitars, banjos, harmonicas, and fabulous vocals. Get ready to move your feet in this historic venue.
1:00- 2:15 Juba Musicale
** The sounds of Juba music, an early for of American music once popular in antebellum Texas, will echo through our homesteads once again. Juba pre-dates ragtime, jazz, blues, hokum, and country genres of music we know today. Popular from 1750 to 1850, it is the earliest version of American pop music! Come listen to Tom Berghan and Thom McNeil, historical music experts, as they play historical tunes on period instruments. You’ll see and hear banjos, guitars, harmonicas, spoons, and even a donkey jawbone!
