Austin Symphony Children’s Day Art Park

If you’re looking for something cool and exciting and FREE to do with you little ones this summer, the Austin Symphony Children’s Day Art Park has you covered!

After hitting the refresh button last season, we will continue to present our summer fun in our brand new exciting location, the Austin Central Library at 710 W Cesar Chavez St.! We will have all the exciting activities and musical guest as before, but in a cool (literally) setting. That’s not all! We will have three encore performances at three different locations: Gustavo “Gus” Garcia Recreation Center, Old Quarry Branch and Milwood Branch Libraries! Come join your Austin Symphony Orchestra and Master of Ceremonies, Bernadette Nason, this summer!

“Mole Music” with String Quartet
This will be read in Spanish and English. An outdoor movie, as part of the Gus Garcia Recreation Center’s “Movies in the Park” series, will follow at approx. 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 25 – Old Quarry Branch, 2:00 p.m.
“Hansel and Gretel” with Woodwind Quintet
Thursday, July 18 – Milwood Branch, 2:00 p.m.
“Carnival of the Animals” with String Quartet

Children and adults can experience the magic of the performing arts at Austin Symphony Children’s Day Art Park. This exciting summer program features local musicians, storytellers, and crafts people. Youngsters can visit the Instrument Zoo from 10:00-10:30 a.m., where they can see, touch and play the instruments; talk to Symphony musicians and hear them play their instruments; sing and clap along with the star of the show; and try their hands at different art projects.
