he costume contest will be judged at 1 p.m. The pumpkin decorating contest will be judged at 2:30 p.m. and all participants must decorate their pumpkin on-site. Paint and pumpkins will be provided. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the costume and pumpkin decorating contests for each of the following age groups:
Ages 0-6
Ages 7-12
Ages 12-18
Many local businesses will hand out candy and host activities. A few vendors will sell children's items. Food and drink vendors will also be on site.
Trail Makers Needed!
Interested in setting up a booth along the treat trail? We are looking for local businesses and organizations to make this event a success! Register your group to decorate a tent and table at the event to pass out candy. See the vendor guidelines and application for more information. Applications will be accepted beginning June 17. The deadline for businesses and organizations interested in setting up a booth along the Treat Trail is Friday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m. Participants are responsible for providing their own decorations, prizes and candy. The best Halloween themed tent will win a prize from the Parks and Recreation Department. For more information, please contact saligaweesa@cityofkyle.com
October Contests:
- Pet Costume Image Contest: Dress your pet in the best costume and submit an image to agarcia@cityofkyle.com with the subject line "2022 PARD Pet costume contest." Be sure to include your first and last name, your pet's name and a theme or backstory. The contest closes Monday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. The winner will be notified by Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. and they must pick up the prize by Friday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. from Parks Headquarters, 700 Lehman rd.
- Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Image Contest: Paint or carve pumpkin(s) and submit the image to agarcia@cityofkyle.com with the subject Line "PARD 2022 Pumpkin Contest." Be sure to include your first and last name or your company/organization name, contact information and a theme or backstory. The contest closes Monday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. and the winner will be notified by Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. The winner must pick up the prize by Friday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. from Parks Headquarters, 700 Lehman rd.
- Yard Decorating Image Contest: Decorate your yard and submit the image to agarcia@cityofkyle.com with the subject Line "PARD 2022 Yard." Be sure to include your first and last name or your company/organization name, contact information and a theme or backstory. The contest closes Saturday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. and the winner will be notified by Thursday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. The winner must pick up the prize by Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. from Parks Headquarters, 700 Lehman rd.
- Costume Image Contest: Dress in your best costume, group or individual, and submit the image to agarcia@cityofkyle.com with the subject Line "PARD 2022 Costume." The contest will be split into three age groups: ages 0-5, ages 6-17 and ages 18 and older. Be sure to include your first and last name or your company/organization name, age, contact information, and a theme or backstory. The contest closes Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. Each winner, per category, will be notified by Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5:00 p.m. The winners must pick up the prize by Friday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. from Parks Headquarters, 700 Lehman rd.
