Geocaching 101

Join us for a high-tech treasure hunt! Geocaches (hidden treasure containers) can be found all over your neighborhood and the world, including Lockhart State Park! GPS units or smart phone apps are used to find these treasures. Join us to learn the basics of this fun sport, and embark on a practice treasure hunt! GPS units will be provided. All ages welcome.

Prepare: Wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a bottle of water. Bring your smart phone or GPS unit, if you have one. Feel free to download a Geocaching app to your smart phone prior to the program. No registration required.

Meet: Meet at the park picnic area. When you enter the park, drive past the pool and take a right-hand turn into the playground area parking lot. 

Fees: Class is free with paid entry into the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
