About the Hill Country Flyer:
Riding on a historic train is a unique experience. Where else can you ride in a living museum? Our signature ride, the Hill Country Flyer allows you time to explore our vintage train cars, historically restored for your enjoyment! On board the train, you will wind through the Texas Hill Country, crossing the trestle bridge over the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon. During your two hour layover in Burnet you can enjoy lunch on your own, shopping, and a leisurely stroll around the historic town square. Finally, relax and enjoy time with your friends and family...as the train returns to our Cedar Park Depot in the afternoon.

This 66-mile ride is *6.5 hours round trip with a 2 hour layover. SCHEDULE: Departs 9:00 AM, Returns 3:30 PM. Due to the unique nature of our non-profit railroad operations, there are no refunds. As a part of our 2021 fundraising series, your ticket purchase today includes a $5 donation to the Austin Steam Train Association in support of our historic train restoration. Your tax-deductible receipt will be included in your ticket jacket.
*Please note that Hill Country Flyers for the remainder of 2021 will be 6.5 hours round trip instead of the standard 6. In order to work with Capital Metro’s schedule, we will enjoy a leisurely 2.5-hour return trip from Burnet —arriving at our Cedar Park Depot at 3:30pm instead of 3pm.
