Elementally Intuitive Movement
Elementally Functional Family Fitness

EIM is a flow-arts based functional movement practice; intended for all ages and stages of (self-propelled) development.

It includes Elementally Intuitive Movement 101 and Elemental Implement Manipulation.

I offers in-person guidance through the six levels of EIM, for pod/groups of 12 or less; the rate is the same ($80/hr), regardless of class size--gather together, separately, and save--plus it's fun to gather together, knowing we are giving each other enough space because EIM requires each body have at least 6 feet of space, or more, to explore their sphere freely.

We wear masks to help reduce airborne particulate (like pollen and dust); to show our respect for each other; and as a form of eustress training (choosing to do something uncomfortable bc we CAN--and getting better at it because we are choosing to practice getting better at it).

My goal is to provide you with a daily practice that you can maintain on your own, with minimal guidance on my part--because you have learned how to listen to your own body's signals, as it communicates to you, the navigator.

After 17 years working on human bodies, I want to help prevent the wear & tear I witnessed on my massage table--EIM is a gentle practice that helps keep my own (very particular) vessel mobile, and relatively pain-free (after a lifetime of chronic pain). I'm eager to share it with you and your loved ones, at your preferred outdoor location--be it your back/front yard, or at a local park.

Fall 2020 on-site learning pods

We have a limited number of spots available in our on-site learning pods.

Elevator pitch below! Keep scrolling for more detailed information!

  • low ratios of 1 adult with a maximum of 9 children

  • full day programming-- Mon-Fri, 8 am - 3 pm

  • guidance and assistance with online/distance learning (both synchronous and asynchronous)

  • progress monitoring on grade specific Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)

  • supplemental curriculum that is aligned with the TEKS and developed in collaboration with learners and parents

  • opportunities for group studies and clubs in a wide variety of areas including, but not limited to: music, theatre, foreign languages, arts, movement based activities, etc.

  • thorough health screening procedures and hygiene measures that include facilitating communication among the parents of each learning pod

***Because at this time we have limited information on exactly what each child’s school day will look like, we do not yet know how much time there will be for supplemental curriculum and clubs, etc. We ask for patience and flexibility as we navigate this new program and manner of schooling.

More details:

  • We are asking all families who sign up to commit for the entire fall semester. Why is this? We assume that if school opens back up before January and we don't require the on-site folks to stay on, we might find ourselves in a situation where several families drop. It'll leave us providing care for the remaining families at a level of loss that could very quickly put us under. If everything miraculously turns around in a way that most/all families are able to safely go back to school and we are able to serve a large number again, we'll happily let everyone off the hook and go back to doing after-school. It just doesn't seem likely for the fall.

  • Tuition is on a sliding scale, from $800- $1,200 per month. We recognize that none of you were planning on paying what ends up being private school tuition, and we acknowledge the precarious nature of life/work/sanity right now. Please know that when we tell you we need to average $1000/mo per child, this is just to help us stay afloat, and we're not looking to make a profit right now. Our rent is quite high, and because we are only able to serve about 1/3 of our normal capacity, the amount we're charging is necessary in order to sustain our program. You'll be asked on the registration form to tell us the amount you plan to pay each month. Please don't hesitate to reach out if the amount that you are able to pay shifts during the semester; we're here for you and will do everything we can to make it work.

  • August tuition will be prorated. You'll be charged a little less than half the regular amount you'll be expected to pay for other months.

  • On Monday, August 17th, we'll do our in-person KID ORIENTATION! It'll only be from 8a until noon, so you just need to send snacks, a water bottle, and your child's wifi-enabled device. The goal will be to get everyone's device set up so that we're ready to go on Tuesday morning, which is when the semester officially starts. We'll also play games, set expectations for the students, and meet one another! (Attendance isn't mandatory for this day, but it'll help the first day run much more smoothly if your child attends, FYI.)

  • The fall semester runs from August 18th through December 23rd. Aside from the closure dates listed below, we'll provide care, guidance and fun every weekday from 8a to 3p.

  • No extended care available at this time. We understand that many families need care beyond 3 pm. In order to maintain stable groups and also be able to provide our staff with some planning and cleaning time at the beginning and end of each day, we are only able to offer care during the posted hours. (They’re working straight through the day and eating lunch with the kids as it is!) We are, however, open to the idea of providing transportation home at the end of each day. Contact us for more details!

  • Make note of the dates we'll be CLOSED:

    • Monday, September 7th (Labor Day)

    • November 23rd - 27th (Thanksgiving week)

    • December 24th - January 3rd

    • ***Please note: if there are other dates on the AISD calendar on which schools are "closed" but we're not, we'll provide other fun and educational programming during the regular hours of 8a to 3p.

  • Assuming conditions in the spring semester are similar to the present, we will resume programming as of January 4th, as long as we have enough families sign up. We will reach out to all of you by December 1st with an update on this.

  • There will be a mandatory one-hour PARENT ORIENTATION via Zoom for every learning pod. Once we've solidified enrollment and assigned everyone to a pod (max. 9 kids), we'll reach out to the families within each pod to schedule a one-hour meeting time that will work for everyone (likely in the evening, sometime between August 3-14). During this meeting, you'll get to meet the smsc directors and staff, and one another. We'll discuss our community agreements, drop-off/pick-up procedures, ask and answer questions, etc. We believe that having everyone actually see and speak to one another (albeit virtually) will enable us to share the responsibility of keeping one another safe.

  • Masks are required for everyone, and only students/staff are allowed to enter the building each day. Please make sure to have a clean, well-fitting mask for your child each day. Staff will wear them all day, and students will be required to wear them during certain times (we'll come to a consensus within each pod during orientation as to when exactly students will need to have them on). Additionally, only students and staff will be allowed to enter the building each day. This is a Child Care Licensing rule; if you are brand new to the program and would like to schedule a time to get a quick tour of the building before August 14th, feel free to email us!

If you are interested in signing up or learning more, please email us at info@spilledmilksocialclub.com!

Surrogate Mother Requirements

What is Surrogacy?

Surrogacy is a modern and growing means of bringing new life into the world, where a woman carries a baby for another person or a couple. The intended parents undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF), meaning fertilization outside of the body, to transfer an embryo into the surrogate mother’s uterus. In our work at ConceiveAbilities, surrogates are not genetically or legally related to the baby and are compensated for their time and service by the intended parents. In 2018, more than 10,000 births took place by surrogate in the United States, and the market is steadily growing at 15% per year based on data from the Centers for Disease Control. And, in the past ten years, the percentage of all IVF transfers that took place with a gestational carrier grew from just over 1% to 4.8%.

What Are Surrogate Requirements?

In order to ensure that surrogacy can be a healthy and successful experience for you, the basic requirements include your age, your experience with prior deliveries, and your medical history.

The basic requirements include

  • Have you given birth before?
    • A history of at least one full-term, health and uncomplicated pregnancy is essential to ensuring your surrogacy journey is healthy and successful.
  • How old are you?
    • At the time you are matched with intended parents, you should be between 21 and 40 years of age.
  • Where do you live?
    • Compensated surrogacy is legal in most, but not all states. And, certain locations are highly valued by intended parents and you can earn higher compensation.
  • Are you a long-term US resident?
    • The surrogacy journey is lengthy and is accomplished only by working with a US-based IVF clinic.
  • Are you physically healthy?
    • You must have an uncomplicated medical history, not be over- or under-weight, not currently smoke, and be free of certain chronic conditions.
  • Are you emotionally healthy?
    • Your surrogacy journey is demanding and requires a stable foundation in your life without undue stress.

How Franklin Music Academy is prioritizing safe in-person music lessons during the pandemic

While music is profoundly meaningful to us, we know we have a big responsibility. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of the families we work with and our staff. To ensure safe in-person music education, our instructors and kids must follow a strict set of Daily Pandemic Safety Procedures. We’re committed to keeping our kids safe and staff safe. See our guidelines below:

Daily Pandemic Safety Procedures

  • Students and instructors are asked to wear a face covering over the mouth during lessons
  • We closely monitor daily updates and recommendations from the CDC
  • No physical greetings
  • Seats, piano keys, tables, and doorknobs are sanitized after each lesson
  • Our staff is trained in thorough and frequent hand-washing: fronts, backs, wrists, between fingers with soap and water for at least twenty seconds each time
  • Supervised 20-second hand washing is required for every student before lessons
  • Employees have been instructed to never come to work if they experience fever or any COVID-19 symptoms. We ask at this time that students and families do the same

More about Franklin Music Academy

Franklin Music Academy was founded after educator JP Ahmad saw how much the kids in his fifth grade class enjoyed performing Beatles songs. Word quickly spread around Austin about the school, and its curriculum quickly expanded to offer new programs, instructors, and instruments. The academy is now seen as a staple in Austin’s music education community. We’re proud to offer lessons on a variety of instruments for students of all ages and musical backgrounds.

We’re here for your kids during this tough time. Music can help.

School of Rock Performance-Based Music Programs Rock Socializing— With Social Distancing

Kids have been inspired in the School of Rock community for the last 8 and half years, learning music by playing music– together. Through programs designed for all skill levels, students go from lessons and rehearsal to performance– developing confidence, talent and teamwork skills along the way. Students, ages 7 to 18 engage in a private, one-on-one lesson. Those weekly lessons come with a bonus: the chance to be a rock star. Once enrolled, students become part of a band as well, and play in a socially distanced rehearsal each week. Bands are determined by skill level and age. They practice together for a season (about 4 months) and then play a show. This unique approach allows students to use what they learn from their teacher in the real-world setting of a band, comprised of their peers. They learn to rock on stage and in life.

School of Rock community members also have access to our one-of-a-kind, fully integrated Method app. The App provides an enhanced learning experience and reinforced practice schedule. Parents and students know what should be worked on and progress can be tracked.

Programs—Something For All Ages

Rookies

Ages 5-7. Fun musical activities and hands-on experience with guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and singing, so they can discover which instrument interests them most.

Rock 101

Ages 7-12. Your budding rock star applies music fundamentals learned in their private lessons to playing in a band. Rock 101 is a fun, low stress environment where basics are mastered while playing songs with other kids.

Junior Performance

Ages 9-12.  Upon completing Rock 101, your young rocker learns harmonies, musicianship and much more about performing as a band.

Performance

Ages 12-18. For beginner to advanced players. With several show themes each season, your team will excel from one level to the next– all while playing music they love.

Rock 101, Junior Performance and Performance Programs include a weekly private lesson and weekly band rehearsals.
