Our Voices, Our Stories

Middle & High School

Tuesdays in October

In this 8-part series, students will work together as an ensemble to discover what makes a "good story," delve into a variety of ways to tell stories, share and present our own stories. The first week of classes will be a combination of ensemble building, interactive activities and discussion around "what makes a good story?" by examining artists and mediums throughout the ages. In the second week, we will delve into stand up, podcasts, speeches, and more, as we unpack how our own experiences are the most interesting stories of all. In week three, we will begin sharing our own stories, and together craft a working project for students to present. In the final week we will rehearse our pieces for a Story Slam, and sharpen our tools to continue sharing our voices and stories once the class ends. No required experience or knowledge. Just a passion for working together and sharing stories!

Looking to take your acting to the next level? Learn how those on stage and screen dive into their script for the most authentic and honest storytelling. You’ll study, memorize, and perform multiple scenes over the course of 10 weeks.
