Sunset Summit Hike - Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

We'll hike up to the top of Enchanted Rock during the golden hour and catch the last rays of a dying day from the top. Learn how even though Enchanted Rock appears to be a solid steady unchanging place, it's actually in a state of constant transformation.
Meet: Gazebo at the beginning of the Summit Trail
Distance: 1.5 miles round trip
Difficulty: challenging
Elevation change: 425 feet.
Bring
- Walking shoes
- Dress for the weather
- Flashlight (preferably with a red lens; mainly for walk back to vehicle/campsite)
Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee to attend this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.

NO PETS will be allowed for this event.
Texas State Parks has a NEW reservation system. While we do not require reservations for any events at this time, without a day-use reservation, we cannot guarantee entrance into the park to attend this event. Day pass reservations can be made online.
This event will last until 9:30PM, you are welcome to stay in the park on your own until closing time at 10PM to stargazing from the parking lot. The elevated areas in the park (including the Summit) are closed after sunset unless you are with a Park Ranger.
