Eclipse Science Stations for kids

*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 04/01/2024
Kids, come learn about the total eclipse coming over us April 8. We’ll have a variety of stations for you to explore at your own pace. Learn why eclipses occur, what to expect April 8, and ways to enjoy the eclipse while protecting your eyes.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

We’ll be in the 2nd Floor Program spaces for three come-and-go sessions:

  • Friday, March 29: 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 30: 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (this event replaces our regular Family Storytime)
  • Monday, April 1: 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (this event replaces our regular Rockin’ Kids Club and Family Storytime)

This is a free event, and open to the public. It is best for children ages 4 and older.

During the event, you may also pick a up pair of solar safety glasses (one per family), while supplies last.

The solar safety glasses are made available thanks to a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Space Science Institute, and the NASA Science Mission Directorate.

Learn more about glasses distribution at RRPL.
