Zoo Boo

The zoo’s annual Halloween celebration is a fun, non-scary daytime Halloween event for the entire family and will be offered daily through Sunday, October 31.

Guests can start their day with a Halloween-inspired singalong as San Antonio Zoo Train transforms into the Scarecrow Sing-a-long Express. The zoo transforms into eight realms of Halloween fun, with two realms making their zoo debut: Bubbling Seas and Dios de los Muertos.

Bubbling Seas is an underwater-themed realm complete with a mermaid photo op & underwater decor any pirate would love. The new Dia de Los Muertos Realm will showcase Latin foods, décor,and live entertainment.

A day at Zoo Boo! is full of activities with Cowboy’s Dance Parties and Cowboy’s Scavenger Hunt. Using a kids map, children can find all the hidden Cowboy signs around the park and turn their map in for a prize.

There will be a daily costume contest for all the little ghouls and goblins to join for a chance to win the official zoo prize pack. The entire family is encouraged to dress up in non-scary family-friendly costumes, but costume masks are only permitted for children 12 and under.

The Trick or Treating Hour provides the grand finale of each day with stations situated throughout the zoo. The zoo distributes only palm oil free candy. Palm oil production has been growing rapidly,producing negative effects on rain forests (particularly in Malaysia and Indonesia) and the species that live within them, such as orangutans.
