13 | Kids Out and About Austin

Geek. Poser. Jock. Beauty Queen. Wannabe. These are the labels that can last a lifetime. With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer, 13 is a musical about fitting in – and standing out! Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy town following his parents divorce. Surrounded by an array of middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain... or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!? Composed of a precocious cast, no character in 13 is older than the show's title! Please note: we ask for parental caution. 13 The Musical is rated PG-13 for mild language and adolescent content and situations. As the show is meant for teenagers, some of it's content reflects this. Characters deal with the ramifications of crushes and early exploration of dating. Please contact us at the office at 512-869-7469 ext 532 if you have any questions about the content before purchasing tickets. 13 will be directed by guest artist Kristen Rogers, PhD, with choreography by Jesee Smart and Music Direction by Rose Yurcina. Performances Friday, May 18, at 7:00 pm, Saturday, May 19 at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, May 20 at 2:00 pm at the Palace Playhouse. All tickets are $5.
