Ballet for Figure Skaters

Ballet for Figure Skaters Our ballet classes help skaters develop the grace, posture, and body awareness that define beautiful skating. Through classical ballet technique, skaters learn to extend their lines, improve turnout and core control, and move with greater fluidity and expression. Ballet training strengthens the foundation for artistry and presentation on the ice—enhancing everything from spins and spirals to choreography and overall performance quality.

Ballet for Figure Skaters
Taught Tuesday mornings from 7:45–8:45am, Ballet for Figure Skaters is led by Evgeni Nemirovskiy, an internationally renowned figure skating choreographer and ballet professional with over two decades of experience crafting some of the most memorable and successful programs in competitive skating.

A graduate of the prestigious College of Figure Skating Choreographers at the Academy for Ballet Masters in Moscow (1990–1995), Evgeni is among a select few worldwide to have completed this elite program—widely regarded as the only institution in the world dedicated exclusively to figure skating choreography. This distinctive education, rooted in classical Russian ballet, laid the foundation for his distinguished career.

Coach Evgeni is perhaps best known for choreographing the gold medal–winning Olympic programs of Viktor Petrenko (1992 Albertville) and Oksana Baiul (1994 Lillehammer), two routines that forever shaped the artistic standard of the sport.

In his Ballet for Figure Skaters class, Evgeni brings this extraordinary expertise to developing skaters of all levels. Through focused work on posture, extension, alignment, and musicality, skaters learn to build strength and grace while translating elegant ballet lines into powerful, expressive movement on the ice. His rare combination of classical ballet mastery and world-class figure skating experience offers skaters an unmatched opportunity to refine their artistry and elevate their performance to a professional level.
