In the colorful mosaic of Oaxacan festivals and traditions, the Guelaguetza stands out for its deep roots in the Mexican state’s cultural identity. Guelaguetza commemorates the mutual interdependence of the people within the community and celebrates the importance to indigenous cultures of sharing, reciprocity, and extended community.
