This campfire gathering features Joe Davis, President of the Former Texas Rangers Foundation and retired Texas Ranger.
Along with exploring how the Texas Rangers are connected to Enchanted Rock, we'll answer some of your questions about the Texas Rangers in the area in the state. Bring questions!
Speaker bio:
Joe began his law enforcement career in February 1963 as a recruit patrolman in the Department of Public Safety Academy. Graduating in June that year, he became a High Patrolman station in Houston and Katy.
On October 1, 1969, he was promoted to Texas Ranger and stationed in Austin. In 1980 he was transferred to Kerrville where he served until his retirement on September 30, 1993, with over 30 years in law enforcement, 24 of which he was a Texas Ranger. He has received numerous commendations from federal, state and local officials and is a past President of the Former Texas Rangers Association.
Location: Campground -- look for the sign and fire ring.
Bring: Lawn chair and flashlight.
Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee for this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. No need to register, just show up.
Texas State Parks has a NEW reservation system. While we do not require reservations for any events at this time, without a day-use reservation, we cannot guarantee entrance into the park to attend this event. Reservations can be made online.
