Get ready to travel into the past at Dino Discovery Day! It’s a prehistoric party packed with STEM fun at the Science Mill! On June 21, junior paleontologists and curious minds of all ages will explore the exciting world of dinosaurs. Visit the Fossil Dig, walk through the museum collecting dinosaur facts, and engage in dino-themed STEM activities. Come and explore the wonders of the prehistoric past and have a ROAR-SOME time at the Science Mill!
ACTIVITIES
Prehistoric Portraits - Explore the fascinating world of extinct organisms and see how scientists piece together clues to figure out what dinosaurs looked like. Then, use your creativity to draw what you think these PTERRIFIC animals looked like when they roamed the Earth.
Jurassic Explorer Field Notebook - Grab your very own Paleontologist Field Notebook and go on an ext-ROAR-dinary adventure through the museum! Discover fun facts about dinosaurs, solve fossil puzzles, show off your paleoart skills, and create a one-of-a-kind dinosaur of your own using our dino stamps
Pair-odactyls - Prehistoric clues are lurking all around us! Take on your inner paleontologist and join us on a fossil-finding adventure! Use the clues left behind by these prehistoric creatures to match each fossil to their ancient owner. No time machine or digging is required, just a keen eye for details, your brain, and a little bit of dino curiosity. Can you dig it?
SPECIAL GUESTS: THE HERITAGE MUSEUM OF THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country will be joining us for this year's Dino Discovery Day at the Science Mill on June 21! They will be bringing fossils, fossil castings of actual dinosaur tracks found on their property, dino-themed activities, and their extensive knowledge of these prehistoric animals. We’re excited to have their team join us and share their expertise with all our Science Mill guests!
