The 2023 wildflower season is BLOOMING! Join the Texas Master Naturalist volunteers on board the train for a lively tour of the flowers and foliage appearing this season. Volunteers will interpret some of the natural-resource features of our railroad line including limestone and granite geology, water in the South San Gabriel River, our Ashe junipers in Short Creek Canyon and the famous Acrocanthosaurus dinosaur tracks.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Half-way through our ride, we will stop for 15 minutes at our historic 1912 Bertram Depot for a tour and photo opportunities with the train. The train will return to our Cedar Park Train Platform at 4:30pm.

Please visit our website prior to purchasing to view our current health and safety plan at www.austinsteamtrain.org/make-reservations/covid-19/ .  All cars are pulled by a diesel locomotive. This 44 mile ride is 3 hours and 30 minutes round trip with a 15-minute layover. SCHEDULE: Departs 2:00 PM, Returns 5:30 PM. Due to the unique nature of our non-profit railroad operations, there are no refunds.
