Engineering & Computer Science Camp is for students that will have graduated from 9thor 10th grade by summer 2020 and are interested in learning more about subjects related to Computer Science and Engineering. In this five-week camp, students explore concepts related to real-world engineering, computational thinking, computer programming in Scratch and object-oriented languages like Python, and technology development. Throughout the camp students also interact with industry professionals and UT researchers. This camp is NOT for high school credit.
How are the Students chosen? Students need to submit grades for the 2019-2020 school year through the 2nd 6th-weeks (additional weeks may be requested), an application (see below) and an essay to apply for the program. Essay be one page, hand- written or typed by applicant using the applicant using the application questions as a guideline, and unedited by family, teacher, or any other individual.
Each student receives individual attention from a Master Teacher and several UT student interns. Throughout their time here at UT, students will eat lunch in common areas alongside UT students, explore different places on campus, swim in the pool, and play sports in the gym.
