Ever wanted to climb inside a Sherman tank or a German panzer? Sit in the cockpit of a Korean War jet or helicopter? Explore the interior of a Vietnam War era M113 Armored Personnel Carrier? Hold a Civil War Musket or a World War II bazooka? Learn about the uniforms and equipment carried by Texas soldiers and some of their battlefield enemies from the Texas Revolution through today? Now you can! Join the Texas Military Forces Museum's staff and living history detachment at Hands on History, Saturday evening July 3. Free admission from 6 to 9 pm (donations welcomed). Want to avoid lines? Early Bird Admission from 5 to 6 pm $5 per adult $1 per child 6 and older. Cash, debit or credit accepted. Ice Cream truck on site. Souvenirs available. Event is indoors. Free parking. Wear appropriate shoes for climbing on slick metal surfaces. Face mask optional. Feel free to take photos and videos. All museum exhibit galleries will be open for touring. Camp Mabry is open to the public. Adults 18 and up will need to show a valid photo ID such as a driver's license, passport, etc. to enter the post.
