Event Details
Explore the Mexican culture and history at the Bullock Museum this fall as we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. Discover the interconnected histories of Texas and Mexico in our second floor galleries and examine artifacts in the Legacies of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo special exhibition. Join us in hands-on activities and special Mexico-related classes that explore the exciting culture and history of our neighbor across the Rio Grande, from its ancient people to the present day.
Museum admission is free for homeschool families and RSVPs are not required.
Attend special hands-on activities between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Engage in conversation with Museum Educators and community organizations, and join crafts, touch tables, and teaching demonstrations.
- Participate in special paid classes with community partners and Museum Educators for an in-depth look at various topics about Mexican history and culture.
- Visit the special exhibition Legacies of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo to examine the history and legacy of the U.S.-Mexico War and how the treaty impacted both Texas and Mexico.
- Buy tickets to see IMAX® documentaries Train Time, Animal Kingdom, Lasting Impressions, and Ancient Caves and tickets to the Texas Spirit Theater films Shipwrecked and The Star of Destiny.
- Explore Museum exhibitions with educational activity guides.
