Monarch Fest! & Native Plant Sale
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 10/12/2024
Did you know Central Texas is in the heart of a flyway for many migrating species of birds and insects including the monarch butterfly? That means we are lucky enough to witness a diversity of migrating species when the time is right. Join us and see what San Marcos is doing as a city to help pollinators and learn how you can get involved and make a difference! Local partners will be on site to show visitors the importance of monarch butterflies and other pollinators that can be found in the region.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Peruse our Fall Native Plant Sale items and be inspired to build your own butterfly garden and lend a helping hand to pollinators while enjoying native flowers. A list of activities for the day will be posted closer to the event date. We will have a monarch obstacle course, monarch lifecycle games, photo ops, tagging games (and demonstrations if there are monarchs flying through), and information on how to participate in the Texas Pollinator Bioblitz. Fun for the whole family!
