The University of Texas Research & Statistics Camp is for students who will have graduated from 8th and 9th grade by summer 2020 and are interested in university-level research. In this five-week camp, students have the opportunity to explore UT labs while working in one themselves on their own independent inquiry. Students also take Probability, Statistics, and Technical Writing to supplement their research endeavors. This camp is NOT for high school credit.
How are the Students chosen? Students need to submit grades for the 2019-20 school year through the 2nd 6-weeks (additional weeks may be requested), and an application (see below) and an essay to apply for the program. Essays must be one page, hand-written or typed by applicant using the application questions as a guideline, and unedited by fanily, teacher, or any other individual. Students should have at least an 85 average in math, science, and English. Advanced coursework may average an 80 or above.
Each student receives individual attention from a Master Teacher and several UT student interns. Throughout their time here at UT, students will eat lunch in common areas alongside UT students, explore different places on campus, swim in the pool, and play sports in the gym.
