On select Thursdays at STEAM Lab, students can drop in and explore the Bullock Museum, see demonstrations, and participate in hands-on activities with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) experts from Central Texas Discover Engineering and Museum Educators. STEAM Labs are FREE for all groups who have pre-registered for a Bullock Museum field trip, or are free with exhibit admission. Every STEAM Lab is different, and may include some of the following activities:
- Electricity with a Van de Graaff Generator
- Build a Lunar Landing Module
- The Science of Chili Peppers
- Make a Helicopter
- Play a Civil War Probability Game
- Evolution and Bird Beaks
- Using a WWII Rationing Budget
- Clean an Oil Spill
- Create a Dust Storm
- The Science of Pigment
- Build and Race a Boat
- Create a Pickle Light
