Are you one of the many students dreaming of making it on Broadway? Then the key to success is training. But finding professional-level training that gives you an advantage can be tough. That's where Tap Camp comes in.
With nearly 20 years of experience helping students from across the country improve their craft, TAP Camp is dedicated to finding and enhancing what makes you unique, both on and off stage.
Here's how it works: You'll be grouped with others of similar age and rotate through classes learning songs and dances that push your limits. Train with industry directors, choreographers, and performers for six days and work closely with our faculty to identify areas to improve and build on your strengths.
On Saturday, June 17th, you'll get to showcase everything you've learned in a final performance at 5:00pm. You'll leave Tap Camp with stronger dance, voice, and acting skills, more confidence, and a work ethic to be proud of.
For those interested in the silver screen, add on to your musical theatre performance week with a session that focuses on movie musicals and audition techniques. Summer Stock Austin works with an Emmy-Award winning team to produce an annual movie musical. The first two films have garnered 14 awards at festivals around the world. As a TAP Camper in the Film & Audition Intensive, you will be featured in the Summer Stock Austin 3rd annual original movie musical!
Immerse yourself in the world of professional movie musical which includes:
Audio recording studio sessions
Work directly with an Emmy Award winning team
Choreography for film
Acting on camera
Focus on auditions and audition submissions:
Choosing monologues and/or songs
Preparing for auditions
Creating self-tapes
P.S. A few extra perks...
1. You'll work with Summer Stock Austin Directors and Choreographers
2. All campers will take home their performance t-shirts at the end of camp.
3. Lunch in the St. Stephen’s dining hall is included for all Campers.
THINGS TO KNOW...
1. Camp runs Monday through Friday.
2. All Campers begin rehearsal Saturday at 9 am. (All students must be present from 9 am until end-of-show).
3. A final showcase performance will take place on Saturday, June 17th, at 5:00pm.
4. If you select to do the two-week camp program, your performer will be featured in the 3rd Summer Stock Austin Original Movie Musical, written and directed by Emmy-Award winning artists!
5. Week 2 ends on Friday.
