The AYL program focuses on player centered development, emphasizing the development of the whole player through skills training, small sided drills and gameplay. Our goal is for the youth to develop into players who have the ability to read, react and play. Practices will emphasize developing the overall player, teaching our youth how to play lacrosse not to play a position. Players are encouraged to try new positions to gain a variety of playing experiences. While we want our teams to be competitive and win on the field, coaches will ultimately design practices and manage games in a way that support the growth of our players - not sacrificing development for winning. We are confident that this approach will put our players and teams in the best position to be successful and have fun.
Since 1979, Skyhawks Sports Academy has led Safe, Fun and Skill-focused sports camps and programs for youth between the ages of 3-15. We offer 10+ sports - and countless ways for your child to grow. The camps range from soccer to baseball to our popular multi-sport camp where kids sample three different sports (Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball) in one camp.
Skill-based sports camps, after-school programs, classes & leagues for ages 5 - 14.
Developmental based sports classes & enrichment programs for ages 2 - 5 years with a focus on teaching life skills
Our curriculum is modeled for the youth lacrosse player (players with three years or less experience in the sport) and focuses on lacrosse basics. Players who participate in our camps, clinics or leagues walk away with a solid foundation in lacrosse. Our training is designed for the beginner or for those players who are still new to the game but want to continue to refine their core lacrosse skills.
