Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
AHB Community School is Austin's oldest progressive micro school. Here students love learning, teachers love teaching, and families thrive.

  • AHB is the school you wish you'd gone to: challenging and creative projects, flexible program, and a strong sense of community.
  • We want students to love where they learn. With 11:1 classes, students get hands-on and teachers give real feedback instead of grades.
  • Your child will receive an accredited education, learning the same skills they would in a traditional school - but have fun doing it. AHB students love learning because they feel connected to the community and participate in group discussions and meaningful projects.
  • Community is huge at AHB. No drop off lines: families can chat with teachers and friends each morning and afternoon. Parents are encouraged to get involved and receive a weekly class newsletter.
  • Our condensed schedule is key to preventing student and teacher burnout. We offer core curriculum (math, ELA, science, history) in a 9-2:30, Mon-Thurs schedule. Optional before and after-school classes and Friday Extension offer STEM, art, music and physical activity.
