Our legacy began in 1952 when a group called the Bastrop Ladies Reading Circle raised funds to open our current museum in 1953. Since then, a lot has changed, and we are now a modern museum with interactive exhibits sure to please the whole family.
-The Bastrop County Historical Society Museum & Visitor Center, located in the heart of historical downtown Bastrop, seeks to preserve the history of Bastrop County as well as bring it alive through historical exhibits and community events fun for the whole family. Catering to all ages, both residents and out-of-towners, the Museum & Visitor Center has something for everyone!
