Headwaters is an independent school in Austin serving students from 18 months through grade 12 across three campuses. Our educational journey begins with Montessori foundations and evolves into the internationally recognized International Baccalaureate, including the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. At every stage, our Guides know students as individuals, challenge them to think expansively, and give them meaningful opportunities to take ownership of their learning.
Learning at Headwaters also extends beyond classroom walls. Peace Education helps students develop empathy, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. At our downtown River Campus, City as Classroom connects Middle and High School students with the people, places, and opportunities of Austin. Experiences including Outdoor Leadership, fine arts, athletics, international travel, and student-led clubs create even more opportunities for students to discover interests and grow.
Across Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, and High School, we cultivate identity, foster empathy, and encourage students to live authentically, think expansively, and create bravely.
