Plein Air Outdoor Painting Teen Intensive

Plein Air is a French term meaning out of doors and refers to the practice of painting out of doors.
There is no better way to practice painting what you see, and finding a painting style that you enjoy, than plein air painting! In this week long camp for ages 13-18 yr olds, students will be introduced to painting techniques in acrylic paint from beginner to advanced, meeting them at the level they are at, and growing upwards from there. (Oil, Watercolor and pencil techniques can be discussed upon request).
Demos will be given at the beginning of the 1st few classes, and then instructor will make rounds to address each student's concerns and to provide creative encouragement to keep going and strive for the next level, while managing artistic expectations - the artist mindset is half the battle!
This camp will be a bit different than others as Plein Air entails painting somewhere scenic and outdoors!
- We will meet at the pavilion at Stagecoach park each day at `1pm, and pick up/dismissal time will be at 4pm.
- Students need to dress/prepare for the weather: closed toe shoes, hats, sunscreen and waterbottles
- All easels and supplies will be provided by instructor, however if students have preferred supplies, they can bring them.
- In case of inclement weather, we will meet at Inspired Minds Art Center to work from photos or the views from the building.
