Private piano instruction includes lessons tailored to fit each student that includes creative off-the-bench activities, note-reading, improvisation, sacred music (hymns, service music), chord chart and lead sheet reading, theory, technology time (iPad apps), preparation for 3 studio recitals each school year and other events and competitions as requested. The studio also has a YouTube account where videos can be shared with others by permission of the student/artist performer. In addition to Classical style, Musical Theater, Pop, Jazz, Blues and Ragtime are also taught.
Group piano instruction will be offered one day a week on Thursday (40 min. class) - using a graded program specific to this type of learning. It will be grouped according to ages, maximum numbers in each class will be 4 students, 2 minimum. It also includes off-the-bench activities and technology time. Performances occur during the final lesson of each semester.
Students are expected to have a piano (88 keys, acoustic preferred) OR electronic piano with weighted keys to start and time set aside to practice.
